About the blog

After this pandemic (COVID-19) outbreak, I believe everyone might have got their ’reality check’ on their health. One might have realized about their food habits and life style. If not, it is better to have a look on them, for always, ’prevention is better than cure.’

I always had a question in my mind. Why is this generation having so many ailments when compared to our ancestors? I got the answer for this after I started studying nutrition as my main subject. It all revolves around the food, nutrition and life style. The quality of the crops, vegetables, fruits and also water was way better in olden times. Again, it has various reasons; the quality of the soil, the fertilizers used which were always natural fertilizers, the seasonal changes, harvesting time and many more. They would grow so as to meet their family requirements. But now, it is mainly for the trade and people have become greedy to increase the profits that they use chemical fertilizers, ripen the fruit or vegetable using chemicals and what not. To add, during olden days, people were moderate to heavy worker. And now, there are more of sedentary workers rather than the other two.

Not only this, but also our genes are accustomed to digest and process foods which our ancestors have been following since ages, through heredity. So if we eat something different, it takes almost 10 years for our genes to get used to this new habit.

Considering all these, we are bound to lose the quality of our health. Somewhere along the way, we have forgotten our traditional foods and to save time and energy, we are using the easy way out. Easy way out isn’t bad, but somehow it will hinder our health, for example: using processed or packed foods, these have lots of preservatives which when eaten frequently pose as harm to our health.

After knowing all these, wouldn’t it make sense to revive our traditional foods and also to do them in an easy way? So, in this blog, I would try my best to revive our traditional foods and not only that but also try to cook these recipes in an easy way. Happy reading!
