HIBISCUS FLOWER TAMBULI
Tambuli is a dish with buttermilk. Tambulis are very easy to prepare and takes very less time too. This recipe was told by my Ammamma. Tambulis are mostly made with the green leafy vegetables which normally are grown in our backyard like curry leaves, vitamin leaves, brahmi leaves, spinach leaves to name a few.

· Hibiscus helps overcome mood swings and mental weakness.
· Its Pitta (heat energy in the body) -pacifying properties, cold potency and ability to balance excess heat in the blood make hibiscus a natural remedy for hormone balance during menopause.
· It also helps in alleviating menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes.
· It also boosts circulation & acts as a light diuretic, which increases metabolism and aids weight loss.
· Certain studies have discovered that certain bioflavonoids in hibiscus tea had antidepressant potential.
Ingredients:
· Hibiscus flower – 6 in number
· Buttermilk – 2 cups
· Green chili – 2-3 in number
· Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
· Ghee – ½ tsp
· Grated coconut – ½ cup
· Salt to taste
For tempering,
· Ghee – 1 tsp
· Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
· Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
· Sun dried curd chilies (sandige menasu) – 2-3 in number
Method:
1. Roast the hibiscus flowers and cumin seeds in ghee, till the colour fades a little and the raw smell goes away.
2. In a mixer jar, add the above with grated coconut and green chili and grind it to a smooth paste.
3. Add salt and the tempering to it.
4. Finish it by adding buttermilk.
5. You can have it with rice or just drink it.
