KERAKATHIGE DOSE (CUCUMBER DOSA)
Cucumber dosa is a kind of dosa which has a unique taste. Both sweet and spicy variety can be done with this dosa. Cucumber used is commonly called as “Kakdi”. It is both nutritious and as usual, easy to prepare.

Nutritional benefits:
100g of cucumber gives, 13kcal of energy, 2.5g of carbohydrates, 0.4g of protein and 0.1 of fat. It has 10mg of calcium, 25mg of phosphorus and 0.60mg of iron.
· Cucumbers contain antioxidants, including flavonoids and tannins, which prevent the accumulation of harmful free radicals and may reduce the risk of chronic disease. Antioxidants are molecules that block oxidation, a chemical reaction that forms highly reactive atoms with unpaired electrons known as free radicals.
· Cucumbers are composed of about 96% water, which may increase hydration and help you meet your daily fluid needs.
· Cucumbers contain a good amount of fiber and water, both of which may help prevent constipation and increase regularity.
· Cucumbers are low in calories, high in water and can be used as a low-calorie topping for many dishes. All of these may aid in weight loss.
· Cucumber may help lower blood sugar and prevent diabetes-related complications, although additional research is needed.
Ingredients:
· Cucumber- ½ in number
· Rice – 1 cup
· Grated coconut- 1 cup
· Jaggery (for sweet dosa)- ½ cup
· Green chilly (for spicy dosa)- 3-4 in number
· Salt – to taste
Method:
1. Soak rice for half an hour.
2. Add all the ingredients along with the soaked rice in a blender jar and blend it until smooth.
3. Pour this batter on tava and cook like a normal dosa.
4. Enjoy hot dosas along with chutney.
